Director's Message

We are delighted to have you as part of St. Aloysius College family this academic year. Congratulations! We realize you've already accomplished a great deal last year, but this is just the beginning. However, the story of your last year has come to a close. The story of the coming year requires your time and attention. Make a promise to yourself that it will be an exciting one full of incredible adventures and lessons to be learned. A strong start always makes a major difference. So make sure you start the academic year with a clear objective, a positive attitude, and a strong sense of commitment. It's an opportunity to look ahead with new aspirations and a sound attitude to make this a more enjoyable chapter in your academic career. If you realize life is full of challenges, you also ought to understand that challenges are full of opportunities to learn and prosper. So should we get scared of challenges? Your biggest challenge will be staying focused and staying diligent about learning. For that you need courage and courage is in facing fear. You alter your life and the lives of others when you demonstrate courage in the face of insurmountable odds. Often the fear of failure holds most people back. But you are not like most people. We consider you smarter than you think, braver than you believe, and more determined than you regard yourself. So believe in yourself, believe in your future. You will find your way. You will find your unique niche in the Aloysian Family too. It is often the case that most individuals try to master the obvious; nevertheless, you can create something that wasn’t there before. Albert Einstein once said, "Creativity is seeing what others see and thinking what no one else ever thought". It is creative thinking and a disciplined inner eye that produce things bold and beautiful. So stand tall and show the world your real mettle. Give your life your best with sustained passion, persistent effort and great willingness to learn, and then your dreams will come to life. Stupendous success will be the outcome! I don’t know if you joined the College harbouring certain media-directed fictitious perceptions about and exceptions for College campus life. These far-from-reality-perceptions, misdirected expectations, and unquestioned assumptions or even fears can have a negative impact. Possibly one way to overcome these is to be docile to the admonitions of teachers, counsellors and parents who can direct you to make a distinction between what is the most essential about campus life and what is just the accidental. Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers, the believers and thinkers, but most of all, surround yourself with those who see greatness within you, even when you don't see it yourself. This will also aid in more effectively balancing the multiple developmental tasks you confront as college students on the threshold of adulthood. The College offers numerous facilities to learn how to think rather than what to think, to share ideas and to be among people who are passionate about learning. Much of what you learn should be learned from good books and practices. There are more than fifty carefully designed skill development programmes for which the students can enrol while they do the UG/PG programmes and for which the College has signed MoUs with international organizations and boards. We believe skill development is a prerequisite to opportunity. All regular programmes in the College are ideally combined to exploit the synergy between academic and skill development programmes. Through access to our faculty, resources, and facilities, along with countless opportunities to get involved and make an impact, you can achieve your best at St. Aloysius College. We are confident that all our efforts will grow into significant epitomes of achievements in the larger academic parlance.
