St. Aloysius College Library: "Connecting people with information and empowering them with Knowledge"
St. Aloysius College Library caters to the information needs of all stakeholders with its well managed information resources housed in two floors spread over an area of 15,048 sq. ft. with the extended area of Library Research Block. The Circulation Counter at the entrance serves as a service point to issue books and provide other library services. Conveniently positioned on either side is the display section of new arrivals including an e-board, area for newspaper perusal, shelves for personal belongings, washrooms and drinking water facility.
The reading room accommodates independent seats, enclosures for teachers, reference section and a periodical section. The first floor has two major sections, one where book stacks are arranged subject wise and the other which comprises a Library Research Block which is a browsing area for teachers, researchers and PG students, encompassing an area of 5600 sq. ft. and an Audio Visual Lounge. The library was automated with the Open Source Integrated Library Management System, KOHA.The library is Wi-Fi enabled and has an e-resource Centre with 34 internet connected computer terminals supported by 4 servers.
The Library at pandemic time comeup with updated online services including Digital question paper delivery, Article deivery services, Similarity checking and Online Circulation procedures.

- Research Scholars
Guest Faculty required to fill the Library Membership form signed by Principal to borrow books from Library. The Library also welcomes Alumni, Students and Research Scholars of other institutions to use Library resources with prior permission of the Principal.
GENERAL GUIDELINES
- Identity Card is a must for Library entrance and users should swipe the ID cards on the Library E-gate Register
- Keep your bags and personal belongings at the property counter near the circulation desk
- Faculty can borrow 10 books, UG Students can borrow 2 books, PG students can borrow 6 books and Research Scholars can borrow 8 books from the library
- Borrowed Books should be returned on the due date stamped on the date label in the book
- Renewals are allowed only once for 7 days when there is no claim by others Loss of Borrowed books have to be reported immediately in writing to the Librarian
- Reference Books and Project Reports will not be lent out
- Books should be handled with great care .
- Mutilation of Books in any manner will be fined
- Students are not allowed to exchange the Library Books without permission from the Library.
- Mobile phones are strictly prohibited inside the Library
- Students should strictly follow the Covid Protocol inside the Library and Library Premises

- Silence should be maintained inside the Library and its immediate premises
- Feel free to communicate with us about your needs
- Maintain queue at the circulation counter
- Carry ID Cards at all times & produce them on demand
- Refer frequently at the library Notice Board , E -board and webpage for updates
