Aksharakkoottam, the Library Club of St. Aloysius College, is a joint initiative of the College Library and the Department of Malayalam, dedicated to fostering a deep appreciation for literature, knowledge, and intellectual exploration. The name Aksharakkoottam translates to "The Gathering of Letters," reflecting the club's mission to create a vibrant space for students to engage with the world of books, ideas, and academic discourse. The club offers a wide range of activities, including book discussions, literary debates, author talks, and reading challenges, all aimed at encouraging students to read more widely and think critically. In  addition to promoting reading habits, Aksharakkoottam organizes workshops and training sessions to help students enhance their research and academic skills. The club also hosts literary competitions, such as writing contests and poetry slams, offering students the opportunity to showcase their creative talents. Community outreach initiatives, such as book drives and donations, further the club's commitment to spreading the joy of reading beyond the college.
