Literary & Film Club

The Literary & Film Club of St Aloysius College is dedicated to nurturing and developing the creative and intellectual abilities of students with a passion for literature and cinema. The club organizes a range of activities designed to enhance students' literary and artistic skills,including competitions in recitation, where participants express poetry and prose through performance, as well as poetry composition, essay writing, and short story writing contests that encourage students to explore and articulate their ideas in writing. Beyond literature, the club offers film appreciation classes to help students deepen their understanding of cinema as an art form, teaching them how to analyse films in terms of storytelling, direction, cinematography, and thematic elements. Additionally, the club arranges screenings of cinematic masterpieces for the entire college, fostering a shared appreciation for classic and contemporary films. On occasion, the club also supports the creation of campus films, where students collaborate on all aspects of filmmaking from scriptwriting to production giving them hands-on experience and a platform to showcase their creative talents. Through these initiatives, the Literary & Film Club creates a dynamic environment for students to explore the intersection of literature and film, promoting both personal growth and cultural enrichment.
