In the year 2018 the ministry of education through MoE's  Innovation Cell (MIC) launched the Institution's Innovation Council(IIC) program in collaboration with AICTE for higher educational institutions (HEI's) to systematically foster the culture of innovation and start-up ecosystem in the education institutions. St. Aloysius College, Elthuruth has established an Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) in the campus as per the norms of Innovation Cell, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India during the academic year 2021-22 to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and foster the culture of innovation among them.

The IIC program seeks to:

1. Encourage innovation and start-up ecosystem
2. Enhance innovation quotient and entrepreneurial spirit
3. Support innovative projects and ideas
4. Facilitate industry-academia partnerships
5. Develop innovative solutions for societal challenges

The IIC initiative provides support and resources to institutions to establish and strengthen their innovation centers, including funding, mentorship, and networking opportunities. The goal is to create a robust innovation ecosystem, driving economic growth, and societal impact.

OBJECTIVES

• Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship among students, faculty, and staff, and support innovative ideas and start-ups.
• Establish a robust innovation ecosystem within institutions, connecting stakeholders, and facilitating collaboration between industry, academia, and government.
• Develop innovative solutions to address societal challenges, promote social entrepreneurship, and encourage innovation that benefits society and contributes to national development.
