Activities of NCC

 Independence Day & Republic Day Celebrations: NCC cadets at St. Aloysius College participate actively in the annual flag hoisting ceremonies on August 15th and January 26th. These events include a grand parade, where the Principal or another dignitary hoists the national flag. The Chief Guest addresses the cadets and students, emphasizing the importance of the day. The program culminates with the distribution of sweets.

Environment Day Celebrations: In line with NCC’s commitment to social responsibility, World Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5th. Cadets engage in activities such as tree planting, distributing saplings to the local community, and organizing awareness rallies on environmental conservation. An oath to protect the environment is also taken.

 International Yoga Day: On June 21st each year, NCC cadets at the College participate in yoga demonstration sessions in collaboration with the District Yoga Association, Thrissur. This event promotes health and wellness and underscores the importance of maintaining mental and physical fitness.

 NCC Day Celebration: The NCC Day celebration at St. Aloysius College is held annually with great enthusiasm to honor the contributions of the National Cadet Corps. Cadets participate in a ceremonial parade, followed by a formal inspection by the Chief Guest. The event includes speeches by dignitaries, reflecting on the importance of NCC in building disciplined and responsible citizens. Various activities, including cultural performances and social awareness initiatives, are conducted to engage cadets and the college community. The day concludes with a rally, promoting the values of unity and service, aligning with the core mission of NCC.

Community Service & Social Responsibility: Social Initiatives by NCC

Swachh Bharat Mission: NCC cadets at St. Aloysius College have taken an active part in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission), participating in cleanliness drives within the college campus and the local community. The cadets take pride in keeping their surroundings clean and promote awareness about sanitation among the public. These activities help instill a sense of responsibility towards the environment and community development. o Flood Relief Activities: The NCC cadets have been instrumental in providing relief during natural disasters, such as the Kerala floods of 2018 and 2019. They engaged in relief operations, helping to distribute food, water, and other essential supplies to the affected population. Their contribution was recognized and appreciated by the local authorities, demonstrating the cadets' commitment to social welfare and community service.


Anti-Drug Campaign: To combat the menace of drug addiction, NCC cadets organize rallies and awareness programs within the community. They interact with the public, particularly the youth, to educate them on the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. This initiative aligns with NCC's broader mission of fostering responsible citizenship and contributing to societal well-being. 

 Visit to old age homes: The NCC unit organizes visits Old age homes, a shelter for the elderly and destitute. During these visits, cadets distribute essential items like bedsheets and fruits and assist with cleaning the surroundings. These visits foster empathy, kindness, and a sense of service among the cadets, enriching their social awareness.
